Green Shield School Award

For Commitment To Fostering Character, Relationships, And Positive Culture Among Teachers, Students, And Families

The Green Shield School Award recognizes outstanding schools that embody the mission of The Positivity Project (P2) by consistently implementing P2 lessons and embedding character strengths and positive relationships into the fabric of their culture. Being named a Green Shield School means going beyond checking boxes — it signifies cultivating a deep, sustained impact on students, staff, and families through daily character education and intentional relationship-building.

What It Means to Be a Green Shield School

To earn the Green Shield School distinction, a school must demonstrate:

  • Community Impact
  • Classroom Implementation
  • Schoolwide Implementation
  • Student Engagement
  • Family Engagement
  • Leadership

This award is a mark of excellence and pride — a public recognition of the school’s dedication to building a positive school climate.

Why Apply to Be a Green Shield School?

Green Shield Schools create positive cultures by consistently applying P2’s principles, recognizing and fostering individual strengths, and building strong relationships school-wide. Meeting these criteria shows a comprehensive commitment to embedding character and relationship-building practices from classroom to community, fostering environments where students thrive personally and academically.

Green Shield Schools receive recognition for their achievements, including a banner, certificate, and media package, which serves as a testament to their commitment to fostering a positive school culture grounded in character strengths and positive relationships.
