P2 People: Bringing Character Strengths to Life at Weldon Elementary
By Leticia LewisAt Weldon Elementary, we don’t just teach about character—we live it. Our commitment to the Positivity Project (P2) shines through in everything we do, and one of our favorite initiatives this year has been the creation of our “P2 People.”
A Visual Celebration of Strengths
In a true team effort, our school has brought the 24 character strengths to life in a fun and meaningful way. With the help of our Guidance Instructional Specialist, Ms. Lewis, our staff took the P2 Character Strengths Survey to uncover their top three character strengths. The results were shared among all staff, building a deeper understanding and appreciation for one another’s unique strengths.
But we didn’t stop there.
Showcasing P2 People
Our Student Relations Liaison, Miss Horsley, led the charge in transforming this information into something creative and inspiring. Through the P2 Club, students created cutouts of themselves and staff members wearing custom P2 shirts. These personalized “P2 People” are now proudly displayed throughout the campus. Student P2 People live in our TLC Room, a space for brain breaks and social-emotional support. Staff P2 People are showcased in our Multi-Purpose Room on the Positivity Project bulletin board, making them visible during lunch, assemblies, and school-wide events.
Strengthening Our School Culture
This initiative has added a powerful visual layer to how we live out the Positivity Project every day. It allows students and families to see character strengths in action and recognize the importance of knowing and appreciating what makes each person unique.
At Weldon Elementary, we are proud to say we are truly a school of “P2 People.”
